Among patients with HIV, comorbid depression is common and is associated with nonadherence to HIV treatment.  Prevalence for major depression among patients with HIV and AIDS have been estimated to be between 15 and 40 percent, far exceeding that seen in the general population. ZHI is providing HIV care 221,111 people living with HIV and on treatment and this collaboration will ensure provision of holistic services to the population that ZHI serves.
